New motherhood is a vulnerable period of transition and one where there is generally a lack of support.
Traditionally, new mothers would have had the support of female relatives and trusted friends to aid her in the transition to motherhood.
As a postpartum Doula, I continue to provide a nurturing presence and practical guidance to help ease the transition from pregnancy to new parenthood. In contrast to a midwife or health visitor who cares solely for the newborn, the postpartum Doula is there to support the whole family. Nurturing the mother as she cares for the baby, easing the parents into their new roles, and being available for the other children's needs. Helping you build the confidence to tackle anything motherhood throws at you.
I will be there as often as necessary to help you adjust to life as a new mother, listen to worries, offer practical advice, help with breast or bottle feeding and do small jobs around the house to give you time to heal and connect with your new baby.
Supporting you by looking after any older children (if you have any) or pets while you have quality time with the baby.
Put a wash on or even iron clothes, help with light house work and preparing nutritious, healing meals.
Entertaining younger children whilst you catch up on some sleep or just get a bath and take some time to yourself.
Offering practical and trusted guidance on things like sleep patterns, routines, bathing, changing and swaddling.
All the things we are too afraid to ask for help with.
Postpartum services can be customised to last anywhere from one or two visits to several weeks or months.
Please get in touch to find out more and discuss a package that is right for you.

Doula Support for Parents of Premature / NICU Babies
For most people, having their baby admitted to NICU is not how they expected their birth experience to turn out and it’s not something they were prepared for. It can be a frightening, lonely and overwhelming experience. As your doula, I will be there to guide and support you emotionally, practically and informationally, as you navigate the challenges and stresses of a NICU journey. I can offer support during your hospital stay and also once your baby is home. The doctors and nurses are there to care for your baby, it is my job to care for you and your family.
Night Doula (Maternity Nurse):
As your night doula, I am there to take care of your baby to allow you to get some much needed sleep! Sleep is so important for your postnatal recovery and can make a huge difference to how you are feeling and to your overall emotional and mental health. I will listen carefully to your needs and together we will work out the most beneficial way for me to support you at night.
